Penedès red wines can be made in two ways:
In unoaked reds we’ll see intense violet red colours and aromas of red forest fruits, blackberries, etc. In the mouth they are well balanced, smooth and well structured.
Crianças, Reservas and Gran Reservas have much longer macerations to extract more colour and tannic structure.
Did you know that the stems are removed before macerting the must with the skins? This process is called destemming and avoids the greener tastes being transferred to the wine.
